Ingredients
- 1 9″ frozen pie crust, baked
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 lb strawberries, sliced
- 1 (3 oz) package strawberry jello
Instructions
1. Bake pie crust according to package directions, remove from oven and let cool.
2. In a large saucepan, add sugar and water and heat over medium heat. Slowly whisk in cornstarch, ensuring there are no lumps.
3. Stir continuously for 4-5 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes slightly clear.
4. Remove from heat and whisk in strawberry jello until completely dissolved. Let cool to room temperature.
5. Once cooled, add sliced strawberries and toss to coat evenly, then pour into prepared pie crust.
6. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours until set. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Ensure the filling cools before adding strawberries to prevent them from softening too much.
For best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
Chill thoroughly before slicing for clean cuts.
Top with whipped cream for extra richness.
